Nike Football Strike Night
London, 2017

Nocte worked with AKQA and Artisan to create a brand experience event for Nike.

"Strike Night" pitted 6 elite players head-to-head in a finishing battle scored by the world’s first full-size, fully interactive LED goal – and it was all broadcast globally on Facebook Live.

The digital goalpost kept a live score and measured each player’s shooting accuracy. Custom animations were triggered by 16 motion sensor cameras that tracked the exact placement of shots as they striked the goal. The scores were determined by a highly-engaged Facebook live audience that judged and voted for.

Nocte developed a bespoke software for tracking the football in 3d space using a motion capture camera system to calculate the speed and trajectory of the ball with great precision. The custom software system automatically detected a score, save and miss.
