Hublot Watches & Wonders - FutureDeluxe
Geneva, Switzerland, 2024

Designed in collaboration with Ben Kreukniet for FutureDeluxe x Hublot, this kinetic sculpture served as the centerpiece of the Hublot pavilion at the Watches and Wonders in Switzerland.

Commissioned to commemorate Hublot's first in-house movement, the Unico, the installation stands as a striking 8-meter-tall structure made of curved stainless steel.

The sculpture’s concentric arcs rotate at varying speeds, both clockwise and counterclockwise, evoking a dynamic representation of relative time. Surrounding the piece is a 270-degree curved LED screen, casting shifting light that reflects off the structure, adding a mesmerizing dimension of temporal change.

Accompanying the visual elements is an ambient soundscape composed by Verraco, designed to synchronize with the sculpture’s movement, lighting, and video. Periodically, two films created by FutureDeluxe for Hublot are projected on the LED screen, punctuating the experience with dramatic visual moments.

Crafted from premium materials, the illuminated cabinet serves as the focal point of the installation, placing the product at the heart of the mechanism. Its positioning is also functional, acting as a physical barrier between the audience and the suspended sculpture.

As part of the project, we created a series of CGI animations that capture the intricate workings of the Unico movement, highlighting its complexity and precision through choreographed visuals that immerse visitors in the mechanism. Set against gradient backgrounds inspired by the campaign film, these animations complemented the reflective surfaces of the sculpture, enhancing the spatial dynamics with vibrant color and motion.
